Dr. Dennis R. White, DVMI began preparing for my life in veterinary medicine volunteering at our local veterinary clinic/hospital during my eighth grade year of education. Following high school graduation, I was accepted into Michigan State Universitys undergraduate studies and upon completion into the veterinary professional program at MSU, receiving my B.S., D.V.M. in 1973, Sarah and I began our life together in Madison, Wisconsin. I accepted employment with multiple veterinarian facilities allowing me to gain valuable life and professional experience. Our first son, Marc, was born and shortly thereafter we moved back to Michigan. I enjoyed serving clients and patients in Grand Rapids within a five veterinarian facility for the next seven years. Working in such a large practice, I was able to experience a wide range of small animal patient abnormalities, exploring their diagnosis and designing medical remedies. Our second son Peter and daughter Jill were born during these exciting years. Discussing with Sarah our future life goals, the thought of developing our own small animal practice began. Tecumseh, Michigan welcomed our family in 1981 with the birth of the Companion Animal Clinic; opening its door on May 18th. The clinics small animal surgery and medicine began small; occupying the leased 800 square feet within the buildings main floor of what originally served Tecumseh residents as Hadleys Market. The clinic grew and was able to purchase the building allowing expansion into the second floor to house the in-clinic treatment ward, radiology and new surgery suite. The main floor could then serve as a larger out-patient area. In 1986, the acquisition of the adjacent automobile service garage building; what originally to Tecumseh was the Beach Oil Station, was married to the existing clinic. The clinics expansion into its street level square footage dramatically improved the efficiency of out-patient function for our clients and patients while allowing for an increase of different products and diversity of services to be offered. My acceptance of a professional D.V.M. Associate to share in the care of our valued clients and patients took place in the year 2000. Dr. Major was welcomed into the clinic and the Tecumseh community in July 2004. With her by my side, we are able to serve and deliver an ever increasing quality of diagnostics, surgery and medicine to more clients and patients. The Companion Animal Clinics valued clients and their family pets have allowed the clinics newest improvements with major interior and exterior renovations completed through 2006 and 2007. Currently the practice employs nine auxiliary staff and two veterinarians. I have been hugely blessed through the past 28 years standing on the corner of North Pearl and Logan Streets caring for the many loved pets of the Tecumseh community and its surrounding area of great families who have helped make all of this a reality. Thank you! |

I am Dr. Jamie M. Major and I moved to Tecumseh in 2004. I graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Michigan State University. I then went on to pursue my graduate studies at MSUs College of Veterinary Medicine, earning my DVM in 2002. I started practicing at a busy, large multi-doctor practice in Warren, Michigan concentrating on small and exotic animals. I gained invaluable experience in medicine and surgery. I came to Companion Animal Clinic in 2004 after the birth of my daughter to be closer to family. In addition to my daughter, we also have a Pomeranian named Daphne. I provide compassionate care to my patients, treating all pets as my own. I am open and honest with my clients. Given the opportunity, I hope to instill confidence in my high-quality veterinary services, and form a trusting relationship with those that I serve. |
Jackie Yeary, Office ManagerI joined the Companion Animal Clinic team in February 2001. It has been a wonderful place to learn and grow. Ive had the opportunity to meet some very special clients (both human and four-legged!) I enjoy doing therapy work with my dog, Forty. Were a registered Therapy Dogs, Inc. team and visit the residents at Herrick Manor as often as we can. I also enjoy the ongoing journey of natural horsemanship with my horse, Star. |
SandyI started with Companion in the fall of 2002. In about 2 months I went from 2 animals to 5! My husband convinced me I cannot save them all, not to mention we just dont have the room. And although I cannot save them all, it gives me great pleasure knowing Im doing what I can to help them out. I absolutely love my job - it may quite possibly be the BEST JOB EVER!! You simply cant be in a bad mood when youre surrounded by animals! I myself have 5 kids ( (2)2-legged, (2) 4-legged and (1) 3-legged. |
CelesteI was born and raised in South Carolina. I moved to Michigan almost 12 years ago and became a Nurses Assistant. I later worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital as a Patient Care Tech, but my desire has always been to work with animals. I finally got my chance when a previous clinic hired me in 2006. I moved to Tecumseh about 2 years ago and was hired at CAC in January 2008. I enjoy working as a Receptionist, Vet Assistant and assisting in Surgery. I feel honored to be a part of CAC and look forward to taking care of your pets for years to come. |
AllisonI am a Veterinary Assistant, and I have been here since December of 2005. My responsibilities include working in outpatient, assisting in surgery, and caring for animals that are boarding or hospitalized. I have been an animal lover my whole life, and I really enjoy working with so many different pets. |

I moved to Tecumseh in January 2002. Shortly after moving here I adopted Suzy, a boxer, black lab mix. One year later I adopted Frankie, an Irish Setter mix. Both came from the Humane Society. I became a client of Companion Animal Clinic after adopting Suzy and started working here in January 2006 as an assistant to the doctors. I help in surgery, run blood, stool and urine tests. I also hold the pets for the doctors to perform the exams and give lots of love to them. I enjoy spending all of my free time with my family and dogs. We enjoy camping, playing ball, running in the park and going for rides looking for deer. In the recent past time we learned that the dogs enjoy going for boat rides as long as Suzy can go out on the tube and get pulled around the lake. |
KimberlyOriginally from Clinton, I recently returned to the area after living in Los Angeles for thirteen years. Prior to working at Companion Animal Clinic, I spent three years doing dog daycare. I currently have two dogs, Tazz and Pixie, with whom I enjoy spending my free time. |
VivienMy name is Vivien and I have been with CAC since May of 2005. It is such a great place to work and I truly enjoy meeting all of our clients and their wonderful pets. I have been married to my husband, Geoff, for 34 years. We have five cats, they are all rescues and they range from 19 years down to 2 years old. Two of them have been adopted from CAC in the past 2 years. |
RachelMy name is Rachel Jacobs and I have been a receptionist at the clinic since February 2007. I moved to the Tecumseh area a few years ago and have really been enjoying the small town atmosphere. My husband and I have two children and 6 pets, including dogs, cats and rabbits. Our golden retriever, Zoie has numerous health issues, so it helps me to relate to clients that have pets with health conditions. Eventually, I hope to become a veterinary assistant and I spend as much time as my job permits observing the lab area. |
HollyIve been working for CAC since October 2008 and I find being a Receptionist to be an enjoyable and educational experience. I married my husband, Nick, in 2008 and Ive been a resident of Tecumseh my whole life. We currently have two Great Danes who despite being adults still act much like puppies. |
